    Hot: Cheese and Bacon in a Bread Bowl

    List of Ingredients

    -1 round or oval loaf of sourdough or french bread
    -1 lb bacon;fried crisp drained and drippings reserved
    -8 oz softened cream cheese softened
    -1 cup sour cream
    -1/2 cup chopped green pepper
    -1/2 cup chopped green onion




    Recipe

    Cut top off bread and set aside for lid.
    -Leaving a shell about 1/2" thick, remove bread and cut into cubes, put cubes on a cookie sheet.
    -Brush inside of shell with reserved drippings.
    -Place shell on a foil-covered cookie sheet.
    -Bake both at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, turning cubes occasionally.

    In a mixing bowl combine: softened cream cheese and 1 cup sour cream.
    -Add in the green pepper and green onion.
    -Blend in crukmbled bacon.
    -Scoop into bread shell, top with bread "lid".
    -Keep warm in oven at 150 to 200 degrees until ready to serve in about 20 minutes..
    -Serve warmed shell with bread cubes to serve 10..
