Recipe Introduction
My parents always canned beef and I remember how good it was and easy to just pop open and make a quick supper out of.
List of Ingredients
- Roast or steak
- water
- salt
Instructions
- Cut meat into chunks.
- Remove fat.
- Simmer in hot water just to cover and only til hot.
- Pack meat into hot jars. Leave 1" head space.
- Pour hot cooking liquid over top of meat. Be sure to leave the 1" space at top. Remove air bubbles with non metal spatula.
- Place 1/2 tsp salt on top for pint jars, 1 tsp salt for quart jars.
- Wipe jar rim clean.
- Place prepared lid and bands on jars.
- Tighten just to finger tip tight. We like to tighten firm then back it off just a little.
- Process @ 10 lbs of pressure:Pints 1 hur and 15 minutes Quarts: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
