Onion Beef Au Jus

List of Ingredients
- 1 (4lb) boneless rump roast
- 2 Tbls. oil
- 2 Large sweet onions, cut into 1/4" slices
- 6 Tbls. maragrine, softened
- 5 cups of water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp. browning sauce
- 1 loaf French Bread
- 1 cup shredded Swiss Cheese
Instructions
- In a large pan over medium-high heat, brown the roast on all sides in oil and drain.
- Place the roast in a crockpot.
- Ina large skillet, saute onions in 2Tbls. of butter until tender.
- Add the water, soy sauce, soup mix, garluc and browning sauce.
- Pour over the roast.
- Cook on low 8 hours or until roast is to desired doneness.
- Remove from crockpot and let sit 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice roast and return to crockpot.
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise; cut into 3" sections.
- Spread remaing butter on bread.
- Place on a baking sheet and broil 4-6" from heat for 2-3 minutes or until golden.
- Top with beef slices and onions.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and broil 1-2 more minutes until cheese is melted.
- Serve with the pan juices for dipping.
