    Onion Beef Au Jus

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (4lb) boneless rump roast
    • 2 Tbls. oil
    • 2 Large sweet onions, cut into 1/4" slices
    • 6 Tbls. maragrine, softened
    • 5 cups of water
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1 envelope onion soup mix
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • 1 tsp. browning sauce
    • 1 loaf French Bread
    • 1 cup shredded Swiss Cheese


    Instructions


    1. In a large pan over medium-high heat, brown the roast on all sides in oil and drain.

    2. Place the roast in a crockpot.

    3. Ina large skillet, saute onions in 2Tbls. of butter until tender.

    4. Add the water, soy sauce, soup mix, garluc and browning sauce.

    5. Pour over the roast.

    6. Cook on low 8 hours or until roast is to desired doneness.

    7. Remove from crockpot and let sit 10 minutes before slicing.

    8. Slice roast and return to crockpot.

    9. Slice the bread in half lengthwise; cut into 3" sections.

    10. Spread remaing butter on bread.

    11. Place on a baking sheet and broil 4-6" from heat for 2-3 minutes or until golden.

    12. Top with beef slices and onions.

    13. Sprinkle cheese on top and broil 1-2 more minutes until cheese is melted.

    14. Serve with the pan juices for dipping.
