Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

20 small chocolate chip cookies, crushed into crumbs, plus whole cookies
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1 cup hot fudge ice cream topping
2 quarts vanilla or chocolate ice cream
8 ounces whipped topping
1 jar maraschino cherries
Recipe
Combine cookie crumbs and butter; mix well and press into 9-inch springform pan. Stand enough whole chocolate chip cookies to go around edge of pan. Spoon 3/4 cup of fudge topping over crust. Freeze until firm. Spoon small balls of ice cream over chilled crust to fill pan. Freeze until firm (about 4 to 5 hours). When ready to serve, top with whipped topping and drizzle remaining fudge topping over whipped topping and garnish each serving with a cherry.
