    1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs
    1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
    1/4 cup melted butter
    2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
    1 quart vanilla ice cream
    2 cups fresh sliced strawberries or 1 (10-ounce) package frozen berries, thawed
    Coarsely chopped walnuts
    Chocolate syrup

    Combine cookie crumbs, finely chopped walnuts and butter; mix well and pat over bottom and up sides of 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Chill until cold. Fold sugar into whipped cream. Spoon half of ice cream into cold crust, and cover with strawberries. Repeat layers. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle coarse walnuts over all. Cover and freeze at least 2 hours before serving. Let stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes for easier cutting.

    Note: I have used whipped topping in place of the cream but I also omitted the sugar as I thought it wasn’t really needed
