Country Fried Steak

List of Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 beef cube steaks
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. milk
- 4 Tbls. oil
- GRAVY:
- 1 Tbls. pan drippings
- 2 Tbls. milk
- 1 tsp beef bouillon granules
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl mix the flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper.
- In another bowl beat the eggs with the milk.
- Coat steaks in flour mix; then milk mix; then flour again. Let set 2 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat 2 Tbls. oil. Fry cube steak for about 5-6 minutes on each side.
- Remove steaks and keep warm.
- In same pan, drain off all but 1 tbls. of pan drippings. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
- Blend on milk until smooth.
- Cook til ready to boil; add beef granules,salt and pepper.
- Cook a few minutes til thick.
- Serve over steaks with mashed potatoes

This is a classic ... must be served with mashed potatoes
