Oven-Baked Steak

List of Ingredients
- 1/4 cup flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 beef cube steaks
- oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 2 cups water
- 2 Tbls. worcestershire sauce
- GRAVY:
- 1/4 cup flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/4 cups beef broth
- Hot cooked mashed potatoes
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, salt and pepper.
- Dredge the steaks in the flour on both sides.
- Brown steaks in oil in fry pan.
- Layer the steaks and onions in a roasting pan.
- Add together the water and worcestershire.
- Pour over the steaks.
- Cover and bake @ 300 for 2-2 1/2 hours.
- Meat will be very tender.
- Put meat on a platter and keep warm.
- In a small bowl mix the flour, salt and pepper, and broth until smooth.
- Stir into the pan juices and bring to a boil for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the steak and gray with the mashed potatoes.
