Coppers Notes:
1 T. A-1 Sauce (3/4 mixed with the eggs and ketchup and 1/4 mixed with the glaze ingredients instead of Worchestershire)
Only used 1/2 package of onion soup mix
For the cheese used about 1/2 pepper jack and 1/2 cheddar
Added about 1 T. dried parsley
Instead of buttery round crackers used 18 saltines, which had been sprayed with Butter and then microwaved for 3-4 minutes
List of Ingredients
-1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
-1/2 cup crushed buttery round crackers
-3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
-1 package dry onion soup mix -- (1 ounce)
-2 eggs -- beaten
-1/4 cup ketchup
-2 tablespoons steak sauce
Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
2. In a large bowl, stir together ground beef, crushed crackers, cheddar cheese and onion soup mix until well combined. In a separate bowl, stir together eggs, ketchup and steak sauce until smooth. Stir the egg mixture into the beef mixture, adding a little water if necessary. Shape into a loaf and place in a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven 45 to 60 minutes, until no longer pink.
*Brush with a mixture of 3 T. ketchup, 1 T. honey and 1/2 t. Worchestershire sauce before baking, for a nice glaze
