List of Ingredients
Cookies:
1 c. butter, softened
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
½ t. vanilla extract
2 ½ c. all-purpose flour
sprinkles or colored sugar
Glaze:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 T. water
½ t. lemon juice
Recipe
For cookies:
Cream butter and cream cheese together.
Beat in sugar.
Add egg yolk and vanilla.
Stir in flour.
Shape dough into a ball.
Wrap in plastic and chill overnight.
To prepare, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
On a lightly floured surface, rollout dough to 1/4” inch thickness.
Cut into 2 ½ -inch circles or desired shapes.
Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
Cool on wire racks.
Ice with glaze or with tinted Good and Glossy Cookie
Frosting:
For glaze, mix ingredients together and spread a thin coat on top of each cookie.
Decorate cookies with colorful sprinkles or sugar.
When glaze is dry, store cookies in an airtight container.
Makes about 3 dozen.
The best way to clean metal cookie cutters is to carefully brush the crumbs away with a toothbrush. If you must use water, dry the cutters thoroughly to prevent rusting. Never wash them in the dishwasher!
