BARS&BROWNIES: Fruit Bars

1 stick butter, softened
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup self rising flour
2 eggs
1/2 lb candied pineapple chopped
1/2 lb candied cherries, chopped
2 cups chopped pecansRecipe
Grease and flour an 8x12 pan.
Cover the bottom of the pan with 1/2 chopped pecans and 1/2 of the fruit.
Mix butter, brown sugar, flour, eggs & remaining fruit & nuts.
Pour over pecans in pan.
Bake @ 300 degrees for 1 hour
Cut while hot and leave in pan until cool.
