    COOKIES: Frosted Trees

    List of Ingredients

    2 Cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup powdered sugar

    Frosting:
    2/3 cup powdered sugar
    2 Tbls. water
    Green Food Coloring

    Recipe

    In a small bowl, sift together 2 cups flour with 1/2 tsp each nutmeg and ginger, 1/4 tsp baking powder and salt.
    Blend butter and sugar in a large bowl.
    Slowly blend in flour mixture (1/3 at a time).
    When dough is well blended, wrap with plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Lightly butter one or two cookie sheets.
    Pull off 1/4 of the chilled dough and roll out 1/4" thick.
    Cut out Christmas trees with a tree shaped cutter.
    Place 1" apart on cookie sheets and prick in several places with a fork.
    Continue process until all dough is cut into trees.
    Bake 15-20 minutes or until dough is lightly brown.
    Cool completely.
    Mix frosting ingredients until well blended.
    Frost cookies with the green icing and decorate.
