    BREAD: Cherry Almond Quick Bread

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup soft butter
    2 eggs
    1 tsp almond extract
    2 cups flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 cup bettermilk
    1 cup chopped almonds
    1 (6oz) jar maraschino cherries; drained & chopped

    Recipe

    In a large bowl, cream the sugar and butter.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Belnd in extract.
    Combine dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
    Stir in the almonds and the cherries.
    Pour into a greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350 degrees for about 70 minutes.
    Remove from pan & cool.
