Butter Tarts
List of Ingredients
- 3 tbsps butter
- 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup mixture of raisins and currants
- 1/4 cup broken walnuts
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Cream the butter until soft and gradually blend in the brown sugar. Cream throughly.
- Slightly beat the egg and add it to creamed mixture. Beat well.
- Add the salt, raisin, currant mixture, walnuts, vanilla and mix.
- Spoon into unbaked tart shells about 2/3 full.
- Bake at 375F for 8 minutes until pastry is lightly browned.
- Makes 12 medium tarts.
