    Butter Tarts


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 tbsps butter
    • 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup mixture of raisins and currants
    • 1/4 cup broken walnuts
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Cream the butter until soft and gradually blend in the brown sugar. Cream throughly.
    2. Slightly beat the egg and add it to creamed mixture. Beat well.
    3. Add the salt, raisin, currant mixture, walnuts, vanilla and mix.
    4. Spoon into unbaked tart shells about 2/3 full.
    5. Bake at 375F for 8 minutes until pastry is lightly browned.
    6. Makes 12 medium tarts.
