VERY BEST "DROP" SUGAR COOKIES

Don't try to roll them out, they're not as good that way. Also,you must use REAL butter to get the best effect & best taste!!
List of Ingredients
2 1/2 c.sifted flour
2 tsp.cream of tartar
1 tsp.baking soda
1/2 tsp.salt
1 c.REAL butter
1 tsp.vanilla
1 c.sugar,(plus extra for rolling the dough in)
2 eggs,well beaten
Recipe
Using electric mixer beat butter & sugar til creamy ,add eggs & vanilla beating til thoroughly combined.
Sift together flour,cream of tartar,baking soda & salt.Add to creamed mixture & blend together til combined.Chill dough for at least 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Grease cookie sheets.Roll dough into 2" balls,dip in sugar & roll.
Place balls on prepared cookie sheets & bake 8-10 minutes or til lightly browned around edges.
Let cool in pan 45 seconds & remove IMMEDIATELY to cooling racks or they will stick to pans.
