    2 cups sugar
    2 cups water
    2 cups vinegar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon

    This syrup can be used to "pickle"
    store bought canned beets. To do this cut down on the amounts and just use a can of beets. Sometimes I open 2 or 3 cans and just put them in my Tupperware pickle keeper. Also good to add a couple of sliced onions.
    .
    Cook small tender beets until tender. Dip in cold water and peel
    skins. Slice, dice or leave whole as you choose. Pour syrup over beets and
    boil 10 min. Pack and seal.
