Salmon with Red Onion & Wine Sauce

Recipe Introduction
Be careful with the sirup, which is not to become dominant in this dish but is solely added to balance the acidic value of the onion and wine.
List of Ingredients
1 red onion, finely chopped
Butter
1 cup red wine, preferably Beaujolais
2 Tablespoons sirap or honey
2 salmon steaks
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Recipe
Chop the onion and sauté in butter until soft.
Add wine. Let simmer on low heat until thickened, some twenty minutes.
Stir in syrup, and continue to cook for a few more minutes.
Grill the salmon.
Serve sauce with the grilled salmon.
