Almond Stuffed Date Rumaki

15 small pitted dates
30 whole natural almonds, toasted
15 slices bacon, cut in half
1/2 cup each: tomato sauce, soy sauce, pineapple juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced Recipe
Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut each date in half crosswise, leaving a small hole in the center. Stuff an almond inside of each date piece and wrap each with half a bacon slice. Place in a 13-by-9-inch baking dish and cook for 30 minutes; drain excess fat. Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour over rumaki, tossing lightly to coat with sauce. Bake for 30 minutes more, stirring occasionally. Pour rumaki and sauce into a shallow decorative bowl. Serve hot.
Makes 30 appetizers.
