Beer Fried Asparagus

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups beer
1 egg
1 egg white
1 tsp. baking powder
4 cups vegetable oil
16 asparagus spears
Salt, white pepper and cayenne pepper to
taste
Recipe
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, beer, egg, egg white and baking powder. Heat oil to 325F in a deep fryer or deep saucepot. Dip asparagus in beer batter; fry for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, then season to taste.
Makes 6 servings.
