Cocktail Meatballs or Frankfurters

1 lb. ground beef*
2 tbsps. bread crumbs
1 egg, slight beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/3 cup finely chopped green pepper
2 tbsps. butter or margarine
1 (10 3/4-oz.) can Campbell's tomato soup
2 tbsps. brown sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. prepared mustard
Dash of hot pepper sauceRecipe
Mix beef, bread crumbs, egg and salt; shape into 50 small meatballs (1/2 inch). Place in shallow baking pan (13x9x2 inches).
Broil until browned; turn once. Spoon off fat. Meanwhile, insaucepan, cook onion and green pepper in butter until tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over meatballs.
Cover; bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Makes 50 meatballs for appetizers.
*May substitute frankfurters for meatballs.
