    1 c. corn syrup
    1 c. sugar
    2 tbsps. margarine
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. peanuts
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. hot water

    Recipe



    Combine first 5 ingredients in heavy saucepan.

    Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.

    Cook covered, over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until steam washes sugar crystals from side of pan.

    Cook over high heat to 270 to 290 degrees on candy thermometer, soft crack stage.

    Stir in peanuts gradually.

    Cook to 300 to 310 degrees on candy thermometer, hard crack stage; remove from heat.

    Stir in baking soda dissolved in teaspons hot water.

    Spread in thin layer on buttered or foil-lined baking sheet. Let stand until firm.

    Break into pieces.

    Makes 2 pounds.
