    My Aunt Pam

    Recipe Introduction

Aunt Pam says "This makes a good buffet dish, and the cold, sliced meat makes delicious sandwiches. Also a regular beef roast can be cooked this way also."

    List of Ingredients

    • 4-5 lb. brisket
    • 3/4 c. ketchup
    • liquid smoke
    • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire
    • 1 stick minus 1 Tbsp. margarine
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 1 Tbs. A-1 Sauce
    • 1 cup barbeque sauce
    • garlic to taste
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar

    Instructions

    1. The night before, pierce brisket with fork and rub with liquid smoke.
    2. Next day, place brisket on sheet of heavy dut foil. Wrap and put into a hot oven, 400 degrees, for 20 minutes.
    3. Lower the oven temperature to 250 degrees.
    4. To make the sauce: Brown onion in margarine until tender. Add the barbeque sauce, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, A-1 sauce, garlic, water and brown sugar. Pour this mixture over the brisket and seal in foil.
    5. Bake at 250 degrees for approximately 5-6 hours, basting occasionally with the sauce.
