    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 c. finely crumbled biscuits or breadcrumbs
    • 1 c. finely chopped green pepper
    • 1/4 c. plus 2 T. uncooked regular oats
    • 1/4 c. plus 2 T chopped tomatoes
    • 1 can diced tomatoes-save the rest for the topping
    • 1 t. seasoned salt
    • 1 1/2 t. pepper
    • 1 t. sage
    • 1/2 t. garlic powder
    • 1/4 c. plus 2 T. milk
    • 1 pkg McCormick Meatloaf seasoning packet
    • 2 eggs beaten
    • 2 lbs. ground chuck
    • Ketchup
    • 2 T. Brown Sugar (or to taste)


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Combine first eight ingrediants and the meatloaf seasoninig packet, add the milk, eggs and lastly the meat. Mix well until well blended.
    3. Put in an oblong casserole that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray such as Pam.
    4. Bake for 1 hr to 1 hr and 20 minutes or until done.
    5. The last 30 minutes drain grese and top with remaining canned diced tomatoes, ketchup and brown sugar to taste. Blend the tomato, ketchup and sugar mixture until tomatoes are almost but not quite dissolved, leave some chunks. Spread over the meat and bake the remaining 30 minutes.
    6. Let stand 5-10 minutes before slicing to set up the loaf.
