    Granny Doris Chicken Rice Soup

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 whole chicken
    • 1 1/2 cups rice
    • 3 cups carrots (small thin pieces)
    • 1/4 cup finely minced onion
    • 1 cube margarine
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • garlic powder (optional)


    Instructions


    1. In a large pan, boil chicken and margarine, salt and pepper. Cook chicken until tender (maybe cut into pieces before cooking if preferred).
    2. When chicken is done, debone and cut into small bite sized pieces.
    3. Put chicken, carrots, onion, and rice into boiling water that was used to cook chicken. Cook until tender. More salt and pepper may be needed to add flavor. Broth in pan should fill the pan at least halfway or a little more.
