Mom used to make rum balls during Yule when I was a child. They always tasted magical to me. Yule wasn't complete until she made them.
List of Ingredients
- 3 C. vanilla wafers, finely crushed
- 2 C. powdered sugar
- 1 C. pecans, finely chopped
- 1/4 C. light corn syrup
- 1/4 C. cocoa
- 1/2 C. light rum
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- Mix wafers, 2 cups powdered sugar, pecans and cocoa. Stir in rum and corn syrup. Shape mixture into 1 inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Refrigerate in tightly covered container several days before serving.
- Brandy Balls- Substitute brandy for the rum.
- Bourbon Balls- Substitute bourbon for the rum.
