Auntie's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Recipe Introduction
Aunt Angie loved oatmeal raisin cookies. She suffered through many a recipe as I searched for the "perfect" recipe. These cookies are fantastic, and are for my Auntie.
List of Ingredients
- 1 C. unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. fresh ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 C. unsalted butter
- 1/4 C. butter flavored Crisco
- 1/2 C. brown sugar
- 1/2 C. superfine sugar
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla
- 2 jumbo eggs
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1 C. raisins
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together flour, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder and oatmeal, set aside.
- Cream together butter, Crisco, sugars vanilla and eggs. Slowly add dry ingredients alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix in raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto parchment lined pans and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Final Comments
These cookies are really good but get hard fast. Store in an air tight container after they have cooled.
Substitute chocolate chips for the raisins and you'll have an awesome chocolate chip oatmeal cookie.
