Recipe Introduction
This is my version of Caudle. If you want a more authentic version omit the vanilla and sugar.
List of Ingredients
- 2 C. milk
- pinch of sea salt
- 1 C. old fashioned oats
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 T. unsalted butter
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla
- 3 T. superfine sugar
Instructions
- Heat milk and salt to till simmering, not boiling. Add oats and simmer for 5 minutes. At the 5 minute mark add 1 tablespoon hot oats to the beaten eggs and mix completely. Slowly add eggs to the oat pot and simmer 1 minute. Turn off heat. Add butter, sugar and vanilla.
