    List of Ingredients


    • 1/3 C. butter flavored Crisco
    • 1 1/2 scant C. light molasses
    • 1 C. packed brown sugar
    • 2/3 C. water
    • 7 C. unbleached flour
    • 2 tsp. baking soda
    • 1 tsp. sea salt
    • 1 tsp. allspice
    • 1 scant tsp. ginger
    • 1 tsp. cloves
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Mix together Crisco, light molasses, brown sugar till light and fluffy. Add water and mix.
    2. Sift together remaining ingredients and add to moist mixture a little at a time.
    3. Chill dough. Roll out and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for under 15 minutes.


    Final Comments


    Bake these just until the bottoms start to get brown on the edges when you lift them. I like a softer cookie. These cookies get hard when they cool.
