List of Ingredients
- 2 C. masa harina
- 3/4 C. hot milk
- 1 T. bacon drippings
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- pinch sugar
- 1/4 C. pablano or jalapeno peppers, chopped
- 1/4 C. green onion, chopped
- 1/4 C. corn kernels
- 1/2 C. Monterrey jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 C. pork or beef, cooked and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Add hot milk and bacon drippings, stir just until moistened. Don't over-work. Add remaining ingredients. If too moist add more masa harina. Warm oil for frying. Pinch off tablespoonfuls and shape into disks. Fry until golden brown on bottom and flip and fry again until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.
