    Grandma W's Cinnamon Rolls

    List of Ingredients

    In glass container, dissolve 1 pkg. yeast in ¼ C. hot water (warm - 115º – hot will kill yeast ~ ADD ½ tsp. sugar) Let stand for 10-15 minutes

    In stainless steel sauce pan combine:
    1 C scalded milk (warm)
    ½ stick margarine (Parkay)
    ¼ C. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    Stir until dissolved. Cool to luke warm. Put in stainless steel mixing bowl.
    ADD 1 egg
    Stir in: softened yeast mixture & mix well
    Add ½ C. mashed potatoes (instant works well) & mix well. Gradually add 4 C. flour & kneed dough on floured board. Form into a ball. Place ball of dough in greased glass or stainless steel bowl. Cover & let rise in warm place until double in size (about 2 hours)

    Recipe

    Remove from bowl. Roll out rectangular shape. Spread w/ ½ C. softened margarine. Sprinkle with mixture of ¾ C. white sugar & 1 tsp. cinnamon. Roll & cut. Place in greased pan. Let rise for ½ hr. Bake at 350º 20-30 min. until golden brown.

    Icing:
    1 C. powdered sugar
    ½ tsp. vanilla
    ½ Tbsp. margarine
    & some milk
