Soft Sugar Cookie

1 cup white crisco
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup Buttermilk
3 tsp.baking powder
1 tsp.white vanilla
5 1/2 cups flour
Recipe
Mix together, put in fridge for at least 1 Hr. or up to a couple of days. Wet counter top and sprinkle on flour prior to rolling out. If desired sprinkle w/ sugar prior to baking or add icing later. Bake at 350 * for 10 min. (I baked mine for 7 min.) DO NOT OVERBAKE. These cookies should not brown or look golden. Makes appr. 6 Doz.
Butter Frosting
1/3 C. Butter
4 1/2 C. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 C. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
In a mixing bowl beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add 2 cups sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in the milk and vanilla. Slowly beat in remaining powdered sugar. Add more milk if necessary.
