Cheese Wafers
I got this in 1961. My neighbor in Montgomery, Alabama, gave me the recipe. I am sure she had it 25 years before that.
List of Ingredients
- 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 pound butter, softened
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- Cayenne, to taste
Instructions
- Cream cheese and butter. Add remaining ingredients. Shape into two logs. Roll up in plastic wrap. Chill. Slice thin. Bake on cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
Final Comments
These keep nicely--if there are any leftover--in airtight containers. They also freeze well.
