Chinese Chicken Wings 1
This recipe came from Gloria I. I've modified it only slightly. It's a good party food. We always hope (usually in vain) for leftovers. They're great the next day for lunch.
List of Ingredients
- 4 pounds chicken wings, rinsed and tips removed
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 small can crushed pineapple
- 3/4 cup sugar (brown is nice, too)
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1" piece fresh ginger, peel and minced
- 1 tablespoon Chinese chili sauce (available at Asian grocers)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except chicken wings for marinade. Marinate wings overnight or several hours. Turn occasionally.
- Remove wings from marinade. Broil about 30 minutes, turning often. Brush on reserved marinade with each turn.
- Or--Bake in 1/4 cup reserved marinade in preheated 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. Turn twice during baking.
- Bring any remaining marinade to boil in saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes. Serve as dipping sauce, if desired.
Final Comments
This is also good with boneless breasts cut into 1 1/2" chunks and skewered on pre-soaked bamboo skewers.
Skinned chicken thighs and boneless pork tenderloin are also good. Serve with toothpicks.
