Cream Puffs
These are really easy, but look like you've fussed all day. These are for savory fillings, but sweet ones work, too.
List of Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
Instructions
- Melt oleo in boiling water. Add flour and salt all at once. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat.
- Add eggs, one at a time. Beat vigorously until mixture again leaves sides and pan and forms as ball.
- Drop by round teaspoons 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 and bake 25 minutes more.
- Cool on cookie racks. Fill with favorite filling (See Shrimp Spread this topic).
Final Comments
A pastry bag may be useful for filling.
Fill close to serving time. Puffs may become soggy if filled too far in advance.
