Nita's Tomato-Basil Tart
Nita is Byron's mother and a good cook. This recipe is outstanding when we have tomatoes and basil fresh from the garden.
List of Ingredients
- 1 pie shell
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil (or more to taste)
- Tomato slices to cover
Instructions
- Place the pie shell on a pie plate or tart pan. Top with remaining ingredients in the order listed. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake at 400 degrees about 20 minutes.
Final Comments
This is also a good main dish. Serve with a salad and a vegetable sidedish.
