Party Ham Sandwiches
This came from Iowa around 1972. It's come in useful for many a party. Men are especially fond of it. It's good for card parties and football afternoons.
List of Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless ham, shaved by butcher
- Sliced Swiss cheese, 1 slice per sandwich
- Rolls (hamburger or dinner depending on the number of guests and rest of menu)
- Sauce:
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/4 cup onion, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon mustard (regular yellow works, but hot is better)
- 2 tablespoons poppyseeds
Instructions
- Mix sauce. Refrigerate until spreadable. Spread on rolls. Fill each roll with a good 1/2 inch ham and one slice cheese. Wrap in heavy-duty foil.
- Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Final Comments
Dinner rolls are best for large parties when a large quantity of food is presented. Guests won't usually choose the larger rolls. A half slice of cheese is adquate for dinner rolls.
