Mamma's Beer Bread
This came to Mamma from B. McGeachy, whose husband had gone to Davidson with Dick's father. Staunchly Presbyterian, they never let a little thing like alcohol interfere with their bread-making. In the days when her children were still at home, Mamma rarely, if ever, indulged. In her later years, however, she had a capacity for spirits that her sons truly envied.
