    Mamma's Icebox Rolls

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 yeast cakes (or 2 packages yeast?)
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon soda
    • 6 cups flour
    • 1 cup boiling water
    • 1 cup Crisco
    • 2 large eggs
    • 2 teaspoons slat
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder


    Instructions


    1. Pour hot water over Crisco and sugar. Set aside to cool to lukewarm.
    2. Dissolve yeast in cold water and add to Crisco. Mix.
    3. Add to beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients thoroughly sifted together 3 times.
    4. Let stand in refrigerator for 2 hours. Cut off amount of dough needed and shaped into rolls.
    5. Put in a greased pan, cover, and place in a warm place free from drafts. Let rise 2 1/2 hours.
    6. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
