Braised Venison with Vegetables
List of Ingredients
1 venison roast (about 3 lbs.)
6 potatoes, quartered
6 carrots, cut in large chunks
3 onions, quartered
1 bell pepper, julienned (opt.)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 bay leaf (opt.)
1 can creamed soup (mushroom, chicken, celery)
Salt and pepper, if desired
Sear venison in a little oil. Prepare vegetables. Place on bottom of crockpot. Place venison on top. Cook on HIGH one hour; reduce heat to LOW and cook 6-8 hours.
This is good over rice.

I'm really trying to eliminate creamed soups in my recipes, but there are a few that absolutely must have them. This, though, is equally good with sour cream added the last half hour of cooking.
Another alternative, of course, is to make a white sauce and pour on top towards the end. The crockpot is meant to simplify cooking. Adding a white sauce takes more time. So--it's either canned cream soup or sour cream.
