    Jane's Crockpot Beef in Sour Cream

    List of Ingredients




    From my sister Jane. I believe this came from an old Rival Crockpot recipe. Her comments are in parentheses

    4-5 pound beef roast ( I used a London Broil)
    1 garlic clove
    Salt and pepper
    1 carrot, chopped
    1 celery stalk, chopped
    1 small onion, sliced
    3/4 cup sour cream mixed with 3 tablespoons flour
    1/2 cup dry white wine (I used a red wine)

    Rub beef with garlic, season with salt and pepper. Put vegetables in bottom of crock-pot, place roast on top. Spread sour cream mix over roast.Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours. (I found this recipe mid morning so cooked on high 4-5 hours, looked in and decided the thickened sour cream mix needed thinned, added about 1 cup water, stirred and 'scraped' off roast, continued on low for another 2-3 hours (until we were ready to eat).
