    Jane's Pork Chops with Wine

    Jane's Wine Pork Chops

    Recipe calls for 8 chops, I used only 2 and had just enough sauce for us for over noodles. Would suggest, if desiring sauce for rice or noodles, to increase proportions to number of chops.

    Brown chops in heavy pan. Salt and pepper to taste. Place chops in baking dish, preferably in 1 layer. Cover with sauce:

    1/2 cup ketchup
    1/3 cup red wine
    1/3 cup water
    3 tablespoons brown sugar

    Cover baking dish with lid or foil. Bake at 325 degrees about 2 hours until sauce is thickened and chops are tender. Turn chops once during the baking time. Uncover the dish for the last half hour of baking.

    Another from my sister Jane. The comments are hers. She lives "up north." You can tell because she'd serve this over noodles. That would be her first choice. Here in the south--translate my husband's south--we'd have rice. It's a rare occasion when I serve noodles as the starch.
