Brown flour in oven (about 400 degrees for 25 minutes, stirring often and watching closely) or in a fry pan (putting in dry, stirring constantly). Stir in broth--canned or homemade. Bring to boil. Simmer about 5 minutes until thickenedRecipe
Note: Browning flour without fat could cause a fire. It is very important that it be stirred continuously if done in a fry pan. Frequently checking the oven is a good idea, too.
