8 - 10 Granny Smith Apples - peeled, cored & cut into slices
1/4 cup Sugar
2 tbs Water
3 Cloves
1/3 cup Castor Sugar
2oz Butter
1 cup SR Flour
1 Egg - beaten
3 Tbs MilkRecipe
Place apples in a saucepan with the sugar, water & cloves, and stew until tender.
Cream the butter & sugar in a large bowl, gradually add the egg & mix well. Stir in sifted flour & milk alternately.
Place apples into a greased pie dish, remove the cloves. Pour sponge mixture over apples & place in to a moderate oven (180c) for 30 - 45mins.
