    Stuffed French Toast

    List of Ingredients


    • 12 slices french bread, 1/2" thick slices
    • 3 eggs
    • 1/2 cup skim milk
    • 6 tablespoons cream cheese
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/4 cup preserves or jam of your choice
    • Powdered sugar, for garnish
    • Maple syrup, if desired


    Instructions


    1. Spread one side of 6 slices of bread with 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese. Spread one side of remainingbread slices with 2 teaspoons of preserves. Make 6 cream cheese and preserve sandwiches.
    2. Beat eggs, milk and sugar with fork until well mixed. Pour into shallow bowl.
    3. Spray griddle with cooking spray; heat to medium-low heat.
    4. Dip each side of sandwich into egg mixture. Cook sandwiches 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
    5. Transfer to plate; dust with powdered sugar.


    Final Comments


    I use orange marmalade. Nice & tangy!
