Stuffed French Toast

List of Ingredients
- 12 slices french bread, 1/2" thick slices
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 6 tablespoons cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup preserves or jam of your choice
- Powdered sugar, for garnish
- Maple syrup, if desired
Instructions
- Spread one side of 6 slices of bread with 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese. Spread one side of remainingbread slices with 2 teaspoons of preserves. Make 6 cream cheese and preserve sandwiches.
- Beat eggs, milk and sugar with fork until well mixed. Pour into shallow bowl.
- Spray griddle with cooking spray; heat to medium-low heat.
- Dip each side of sandwich into egg mixture. Cook sandwiches 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer to plate; dust with powdered sugar.
Final Comments
I use orange marmalade. Nice & tangy!
