Linda's Swiss Chard With Bacon Dressing

List of Ingredients
1/2 lb. bacon, and all the fat from frying
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
fresh ground pepper, to taste
1/4 c. onion, minced
1 egg
4 T. flour
Recipe
Chop bacon and fry, until crisp. Keep ALL bacon fat, and cool.
Mix together sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, onion, egg, flour, crumbled bacon, and bacon fat. Stir all together in a bowl. Set aside.
Remove ribs from chard. Chop greens and stems, and put in a lg. skillet with 1/2 c. water. Turn on high, and steam until wilted. Drain.
Add bowl of dressing, and heat until thickened stirring constantly.
Note:
You can serve this dish plain or over potatoes, rice, or pasta.
