    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 cup oil
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 cups apples -- thinly sliced
    1 cup nuts -- chopped
    Frosting*
    1/2 stick margarine
    1/2 pound confectioner's sugar
    3 ounces cream cheese -- softened

    Beat eggs with sugar; add remaining ingredients and mix well. Add sliced apples and nuts. Pour into a 9x13-inch greased baking pan. Bake at 350 F. for 45 minutes. Cool.

    Frosting: Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth; spread on cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.
