    Easy Cherry Cake with Pudding Frosting

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 can cherry pie filling -- (20 ounce)
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    2 eggs
    2/3 cup oil
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup sugar
    3/4 cup chopped nuts

    Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix together well with a spoon. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch cake pan. Bake at 350 F. for 40-50 minutes. Cool, and frost with Vanilla Pudding Frosting (see recipe below).

    Vanilla Pudding Frosting:
    Combine 1 4-oz. package instant vanilla pudding mix with 1-1/2 cups cold milk and 1 envelope Dream Whip topping mix. Beat together in deep bowl at high speed until fluffy and smooth.

    NOTES : This is so good and an old family favorite! The frosting is good on all kinds of cake, as well as a topping for jello desserts or bread pudding.
