Easy Italian Pot Roast
3-to-4 pound pot roast
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jar (21-oz.) Italian cooking sauce or spaghetti sauce
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. In Dutch oven, brown on all sides in oil. Add onion and garlic and cook just until onion is tender. Spoon off excess oil. Pour sauce over roast. Cover and simmer 2-1/2 hours or until tender.
Serve with hot cooked spaghetti or noodles.
Makes 1 quart sauce and up to 2 servings per pound of meat
