Pork Steaks with Mushroom Cream Gravy

6 lean pork steaks or chops
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
8 ounces mushroom stems and pieces. drained
10 1/2 ounces beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon flour
Season pork steaks with salt and pepper; brown well in hot oil in a large skillet; remove. Add onions; saute until tender (do not brown). Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Add mushroom liquid, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and meat to skillet.
Simmer, covered for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Remove meat and keep warm.
Add mushrooms to pan juices in skillet. Bring mixture to a boil. Combine evaporated milk and flour; slowly stir into hot liquid. Cook, stirring, until thickened. (Do not boil). Delicious with mashed potatoes, buttered noodles or rice.
