Yummy Porcupine Balls

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion -- minced
1/2 cup raw rice
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
1 egg
2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 can cream of tomato soup
Mix together all ingredients except soup. With your hands, shape into balls about the size of a golf ball and pile in a greased 2-quart casserole. Pour the tomato soup that has been thinned with equal amount of water, over the balls. Cover casserole and bake at 375 F. for about 1 hour.
Makes about 30 meatballs
