    Ham Stew for Two

    2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch cubes
    2 medium carrots, sliced
    1-1/2 cups fully-cooked ham, cubed
    1 cup water
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon dried savory
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    3 tablespoons flour
    1 cup milk

    In a saucepan, combine the first 9 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until vegetables are tender. In small bowl, combine the flour and milk until smooth. Stir into stew. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
    Discard bay leaf before serving.

    Yield: 2 servings
